Kigezi HomeBoyz FC battled hard but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Gaddafi FC, with Yasir’s 16th-minute goal proving decisive.
The game started with Gaddafi FC piling on the pressure in the first five minutes, forcing Kigezi HomeBoyz to defend deep. As the match progressed, Kigezi found their rhythm, settling into possession after a frantic start. However, a stroke of luck saw Gaddafi take the lead when Yasir found the back of the net in the 16th minute, capitalizing on a loose defensive moment.
Despite the setback, Kigezi HomeBoyz began to impose themselves, with standout performances from Charles Waibi, who was excellent on the wing, showing signs of returning to top form. The first half ended with Kigezi trailing 1-0, but with confidence growing in their play.
In the second half, Kigezi HomeBoyz came out with renewed determination, hungry for an equalizer. Defensively, Akiramu was solid at the back, and Elia controlled the midfield with poise. Kigezi dominated possession, holding 80% of the ball and firing over 12 shots on target. However, despite their attacking efforts, they were unable to break through Gaddafi’s defense, leaving them frustrated as the final whistle blew.
Though the boys played exceptional football, the finishing touch eluded them, and the game ended 1-0 in favor of Gaddafi FC.
After the final whistle, Kigezi HomeBoyz FC head coach, [Tushabe Denis], shared his thoughts on the team’s performance. “It was a tough game, and the boys gave everything on the pitch. We dominated possession and created plenty of chances, but unfortunately, we couldn’t find the back of the net,” he said. “I’m proud of the effort and the way the team fought until the end.
