UGANDA FUFA BIG LEAGUE
The Date: May 24th, 2025
The Contest: Kigezi HomeBoyz FC vs. Calvary FC Midigo
The Time: 4:00 PM
The Venue: Kigezi HomeBoyz Al-Madinah Stadium, Kabale
Kigezi HomeBoyz FC will be back at home — the Al-Madinah fortress — this Saturday afternoon as they host Calvary FC Midigo in a crucial FUFA Big League encounter.
With the fight for survival intensifying, this fixture offers Kigezi HomeBoyz a vital chance to leap out of the relegation zone. A win will temporarily push us out of danger, and should Ntungasaze FC beat Arua Hill SC tomorrow, the climb will be even more meaningful.
Currently 12th on the log with 24 points, we trail Arua Hill SC by just a single point, though we have a game in hand. Behind us, Busoga United FC and MYDA FC both sit at 23 points, while Booma FC remain rooted at the bottom — and may be too late to save.
Our visitors, Calvary FC, come into this clash in 5th place with ambitions of promotion. But a loss at Al-Madinah could derail their momentum.
It must not be overlooked that Kigezi HomeBoyz FC has suffered only one home loss this season — that lone defeat coming at the hands of Booma FC. Calvary should tread carefully. While wins have been hard to come by at home, we’ve been an immovable force, registering 7 of our 9 season draws here in Kabale.
Today’s clash marks the fourth competitive meeting between the two sides. Calvary FC has had the upper hand in previous encounters, winning twice and drawing once. A win for Kigezi HomeBoyz would mark a historic first over the Midigo side.
Team News:
- Charles Waibi will miss today’s fixture as he is currently sitting their end-of-year semester exams. We extend our best wishes to him in his academic pursuits.
- Asiimwe Elia is back to matchday squad. The midfielder had missed out on our previous game citing fitness.
