Kigezi HomeBoyz FC’s talented right-back, Beinomugisha Timothy, sustained a foot injury during our FUFA Big League opener against Ntugasaze FC on 6th October, where he delivered an assist in an impressive performance. Unfortunately, the injury ruled him out of the squad for our most recent fixture on Sunday, 13th October, and he is expected to remain on the sidelines until early 2025.
Timothy, at just 21, had solidified his place as a crucial member of our defense. His composure, long crosses, and attacking runs from the right-back position provided an edge both defensively and offensively. His absence for the remainder of the first round will be felt deeply, especially in our upcoming match against Busoga United FC, where his presence would have been instrumental.
However, Head Coach Tushabe Denis remains optimistic about Timothy’s recovery. “Timothy has been undergoing light training, and we’ve seen positive progress. Initially, we feared he might be out until March 2025, but with the way things are going, we’re hopeful he could return sooner than expected. We’ll keep monitoring his progress and provide updates.”
In the meantime, the coaching staff has placed its trust in Ogwang Joel, who performed well in Timothy’s role during our last game in Entebbe. Aggrey Atwongiire is another strong option being considered to cover the right-back position moving forward.
As for other injury updates, Kadowe Manisuri has fully recovered and returned to training. Striker Aniku Bushira is also on the mend, currently doing light training as he continues his recovery process.
We will continue to provide timely updates on the squad’s injury situation and preparations for the upcoming matches. Stay tuned for more news as the team works hard to keep the momentum going despite these challenges.
